Protools 12 5

I have an old Mac running OSX 10.6.8 that I use solely for music production (basically just vocal recording and vocal editing). I am currently using garage band but would really like to upgrade to protools. The problem is, that it seems Protools is not selling any versions of Protools before Protools 12. If I get a perpetual license and can find an old version of Protools, would my license work on an old version? I saw a few places online that let you download old versions of Protools and I also saw a fee people selling old versions on Ebay. How legitimate are these? If you’re using 10.6.8 then you need to use pro tools 10. Legit sellers will be selling an iLok key with a license so look for that. And should you buy a v.11 or .12 it will also work for PT10. But you must find it used or at a shop. Perpetual license.Avid no longer sells anything but subcription licenses, and they do not work for earlier versions!I had v10 on 10.6.8 for years, and it's one of the most stable combinations. Remember, 10 runs only RTAS and AAX32 format plugins, so basically you can forget about purchasing new plugins.What mac do you have?How much RAM?Give some info, please. PT is very demanding. Even 10.I recently went from Mac pro 2008 10.6.8 PT10 to iMac 2017 and PT2020 perpetual. I bought PT license used for about 300 dollars and I think that was a pretty good deal. It did not come with a ilok, but nowadays there's iLok Cloud, that works fine as long as your internet connection does.Also, be prepared to wait a while for the license transfer process. The seller, you, Pace iLok, and Avid have to do some work to get the license transferred, whether it's from ilok to ilok, or to ilok cloud. In my case it was 3-4 weeks. But I had the 30 day demo in the meantime.You should check out the fully functional demo. I'm pretty shure you can install any version from ten up with it. Make shure your hardware can handle it. Only thing bugging PT right now is Apple's transition from Intel hardware to Apple Silicon. My couple of days of running 12.1, seem to have been solved.Pro Tools 2021.12 is screaming fast in Rosetta on my new 14" M1Pro MacBook Pro. The Avid Compete Bundle, which is STILL using a 3-4 year old build of iLok, is the complete disaster. There also seem to be problems with Isotope plugins, so it's not a useful system until Avid and other plugin manufacturers get Monterey support together.I suspect Avid will get Monterey support in Rosetta done in first quarter of 2022 (as has been the timeline in the past) long before we see an M1 native PT. On a MacBook Pro M1 Max running OS12.2 and PT2021.12.PT hangs on "Waiting for video engine to start".Starting without video engine enabled, PT is working, had to do some plugin updates. if I try to start the video engine after PT is running, it will hang "Waiting for video engine to start".I've seen online on YouTube video working on the M1 Max, so not sure why mine is not working. Pro Tools 2021.10/12 is working fine on M1 processors in Rosetta on machines that can run Big Sur, it is macOS Monterey that is the current issue. I respectfully disagree that Monterey is buggy. There were memory leak issues with 12.01, which in
