2025-04-19Xbox Sign in to your ScreenRant account In honor of Pride Month, Life is Strange creator Dontnod Entertainment is allowing PC and Xbox players to download and own Tell Me Why at no extra cost. Dontnod launched Tell Me Why in the summer of 2020 to predominantly favorable reviews across the board. Xbox Game Studios published the story-driven experience, which became the first major AAA game to star a trans character in a leading, playable role. Since the advent of Life is Strange in 2015, the French studio has built a reputation for tackling a variety of social issues and topics in its interactive adventures. Tell Me Why, of course, counts as no exception. In developing this particular endeavor, the crew at Dontnod consulted with organizations like GLAAD to ensure the project culminated in an authentic trans narrative. The collaboration gave rise to the character of Tyler Ronan, a transgender man who works with his twin sister Alyson to unearth the mysteries about their traumatic youth. Earlier this year, Dontnod permanently made Tell Me Why's first chapter free on PC and Xbox. Now players can enjoy even more of the award-winning title. Because Pride Month starts today, June 1, Dontnod has made all three chapters of Tell Me Why available for free on Xbox, Steam, and Windows 10 platforms. The developer announced as much on the game's official website, noting that the freebie will remain in place through the end of the month on June 30. Even after Pride Month concludes, however, those who take advantage of the free download will still be able to access the experience at no charge. In making the experience available at no cost, Dontnod hopes players feel encouraged to donate money to causes that directly benefit LGBTQIA+ communities, such as local mutual aid funds, queer game developers, and various charities. Dontnod's free offering is a lovely way to celebrate Pride Month and will no doubt introduce new audiences to the memorable and thoughtfully crafted project. All who plan on trying out Tell Me Why for free would do well to act fast; this month,
